Sennelier famously developed these for Edgar Degas in 1900, but thanks to their superior quality, they have become famous attached to artists such as Cézanne, Gauguin, Modigliani & Monet . Intricately handmade using the purest pigments & finest chalk. They also feature a natural transparent binder, along with their production finishing with air-drying in moulds (rather than compressed). Thanks to this unique process & famous attention to detail, these pastels are wonderfully soft & smooth. Lightfast & naturally water-soluble, without losing any of the vibrancy of their pigmentation.
