Available in several variations, the Pastelmat range from Clairefontaine supports advanced techniques whilst remaining accessible & user-friendly for newcomers, easily making them one of the most trusted & widely used surfaces for pastel work (along with other dry mediums). Containing 12 sheets of heavyweight 360gsm paper in several tones, accommodating both light & dark work, these are gummed along the top edge for easy removal & display of your work. Archival-quality & acid-free, each sheet has been made using 100% natural cellulose plant fibres with no abrasive chemicals for a surface that actively "tames" pastels for tighter control & soft, buttery marks whilst reducing excess pastel dust. Their soft, velour texture consumes pigments 30% - 40% slower than standard pastel papers, allowing for repeated layering & blending of colours that remain fixed & vibrant, even without the use of fixatives.
