A bold and indulgent addition to Lochlea’s newly established core range, Lochlea Dark Briar is a richly layered Lowland single malt, inspired by the distillery’s acclaimed Fallow Edition. This expression is matured in a refined combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry butts, alongside Port casks, creating a deeply expressive whisky bursting with dark fruit character and warming spice. Crafted entirely from barley grown on the Lochlea farm in Ayrshire, Dark Briar is non-peated, allowing the cask influence to shine through with sumptuous depth and complexity. It’s a striking, flavour-driven release that beautifully balances sweetness with spice.
