Founded in 1964, the Tomintoul Distillery takes its name from the nearby village of Tomintoul—the highest village in the Highlands of Scotland. Situated within the Glenlivet Estate and surrounded by the Cairngorms National Park, the distillery draws pure spring water from the Ballantruan spring, contributing to the elegant and smooth profile of its whiskies. Known as ‘The Gentle Dram’, Tomintoul has earned a reputation for crafting approachable yet characterful single malts with a distinctly soft Speyside charm. This release marries the gentle character of Tomintoul with the rich depth of Portuguese Tawny Port casks. Initially matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, this limited release is finished in carefully selected Port pipes from the Douro Valley, imparting a luxurious complexity and natural sweetness.
